In this role as an Emergency Management Training and Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing training needs, developing, coordinating and delivering training and awareness programs for all employees that are required to have an understanding or active role in the Incident Management Team, Crisis Management or Incident Response Teams.
With a Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role can be based in Southbank and is part of the Operations and Emergency Management team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Conduct thorough assessments of the organisation's emergency management training needs, focusing on critical infrastructure and Incident Management.
- Gather and analyse data on past incidents, vulnerabilities, and gaps in emergency response procedures.
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum based on the ADDI model tailored to the organisation's critical infrastructure.
- Design interactive, scenario-based training modules to address emergency response, crisis communication, and decision-making under pressure.
- Create emergency exercises across the BUs to maintain compliance with the Emergency Management Act
- Ensure all training content is aligned with real-world scenarios and the unique needs of the organisation’s critical infrastructure.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and drills for emergency management teams, ensuring clear communication and engagement.
- Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, tests, and feedback surveys.
- Collaborate with emergency management teams, infrastructure managers, and other departments to align training goals with organisational needs.
- Ensure that the training program meets all relevant legal, regulatory, and organisational compliance standards.
- Provide recommendations for strengthening emergency response protocols and infrastructure resilience.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Demonstrated industry experience (in emergency management, training coordination, or relevant fields)
- Experience with “Learning Management Systems”, SCORM and CBT Modules
- Program Coordination/Scheduling and Training Plan developments
- Experience in emergency management of critical infrastructure assets in a regulatory environment will be beneficial
- Technical knowledge or understanding of energy transmission and distribution networks will be beneficial
- Proven experience in coordinating and leading training programs and sessions essential
- Contribution to the implementation of emergency response and operational excellence initiatives experience.
- Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of seniority and technical / emergency response knowledge and understanding
- Experience managing large teams, rosters, or complex scheduling programs
- Exposure to creating and managing online training modules and materials
- Skilled in building and maintaining healthy working relationships with varied stakeholders
