The Opportunity 

 

We’re looking for a dynamic, influential and strategic Digital Change Capability Lead to guide the change direction across our $120M+ digital portfolio. The role includes leadership of a sizeable multilayered change team and accountability for a ~$2million operating budget. This is your chance to lead a high performing team, elevate change maturity, and ensure digital initiatives land successfully across a complex, critical infrastructure organisation. 

Reporting to the General Manager, Digital Program Management, you will sit at the heart of our Digital Delivery Leadership Team — partnering closely with senior leaders, Enterprise Change teams, and implementation partners to deliver meaningful, lasting change. Your impact will be measured by the successful realisation of Digital initiatives at scale — delivering lasting value for AusNet, our customers and the communities we support 

 

What You’ll Lead & Deliver 

As the Digital Change Capability Lead, you will: 

  • Own portfolio level leadership across all digital change activity. 

  • Translate technical digital impacts into practical, fit for purpose change strategies. 

  • Drive planning, forecasting, governance and resource prioritisation across a multi-initiative portfolio. 

  • Guide digital wide readiness, adoption and stakeholder engagement to ensure initiatives are embedded and successful. 

  • Lead, mentor and build capability across a team of Senior Change Managers and broader change professionals. 

  • Champion alignment with AusNet’s Enterprise Change Framework while shaping digital specific approaches. 

  • Contribute to uplift programs that strengthen change maturity and delivery effectiveness. 

 

You’ll Work Closely With 

  • Digital Delivery Leadership (Portfolio Directors, PMO Director) 

  • Enterprise Change & Communications 

  • Business Enablement & Roadmap teams 

  • Digital GMs and the CTO 

  • External delivery partners

About You 

You’re a leader who thinks strategically, simplifies complexity, and delivers with integrity and care. You thrive in environments of scale, pace and transformation. 

Must have experience: 

  • Leading change across large digital or tech enabled transformation portfolios. 

  • Managing demand, resourcing and prioritisation across multiple initiatives. 

  • Influencing senior executives with clear, concise communication. 

  • Building and coaching high performing teams. 

 

Nice to have: 

  • PROSCI or equivalent Change Management certification 

  • Consulting background in digital or tech transformation 

  • Knowledge of electricity and gas networks
