We have an opportunity for a Data Product Manager to join our team. As a key leadership role, you’ll help shape and deliver our data product strategy, driving the development of data products and deep analytics capabilities that enable better business decisions. Working across business and technical teams, you’ll play a critical role in turning data into meaningful insights, establishing key controls and processes across the product portfolio, and continuously enhancing AusNet’s data-driven decision making.

What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Develop and execute the Data Product Strategy, in support of the Data & Analytics Strategy, across the full data lifecycle in alignment with business objectives
- Design, build, implement and maintain data products in alignment with data governance frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security and privacy
- Proactively optimise business value through the data product suite, aligned to business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes
- Lead, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports. Establishing and maintaining career development plans for direct reports and pathways for the function. Including identification of training opportunities
- Remain aware of market developments that are relevant to Ausnet’s Data Product strategy, provide insight as appropriate. Where relevant, evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance AusNet’s data analytics capabilities
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years’ of experience in data analytics, data governance, business performance, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Proven track record of managing and leading data focused teams
- Proven experience managing senior stakeholders up to and including executive level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate data related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Experience with data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance
- Strong business acumen and understanding of business processes and objectives to align data initiatives with organisational goals
- Ability to anticipate future trends and challenges in data analytics and develop proactive strategies to address
- In depth knowledge of aligned data product technology
