As the Corporate Strategy Manager you will play an active part in shaping AusNet’s enterprise strategy, influencing the organisation’s strategic direction and priorities, and helping to deliver on its long-term growth aspirations.
The Corporate Strategy team is a small, high-performing team, focussed on setting & disseminating the enterprise vision, purpose, strategy and values and collaborating with the Executive and extended leadership team on strategy development, progression and execution.
Reporting directly to the GM Financial Planning & Strategy, this role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate the strategic planning process for AusNet across our 4 business lines, influencing the organisation’s strategic direction and closely aligning to AusNet’s financial planning
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Corporate Strategy team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

Playing an active part in shaping AusNet’s enterprise strategy (in collaboration with the Executive and extended leadership team) and cascading the strategy to the broader organisation

Leading an integrated and efficient strategic planning cycle linking corporate strategy, business unit plans, budgets and KPIs; providing strategic clarity for leaders and across the organisation and ensuring a focus on value creation in strategic planning. Ultimately accountable for the development of the enterprise strategic plan

Setting and driving the strategic business agenda to support the business in prioritisation and focus

Collaborating effectively with peers to ensure alignment between enterprise strategy and line of business strategic priorities

Providing strategic insight for Board, ELT and organisation. Keep abreast of internal and external developments that influence AST’s business and strategy. Oversee the provision of relevant information to the Executive and Board that enables the challenge and re-prosecution of the strategy, priorities and initiatives

Collaborating across the broader organisation to ensure that value is being created through strategy execution, and how the strategy better positions AusNet in delivering its near, medium and long term growth strategy and aspirations

In conjunction with the Financial Planning & Strategy team, coordinate and lead the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) for the AusNet Group

Coordinating the annual Board Strategy Day end-to-end - including working with the Executive to set the strategic agenda

Plays a major role in the annual Energy Charter reporting
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

5+ years relevant work experience in consulting or corporate strategy roles

Proven relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to be able to effectively communicate, collaborate and influence senior executives and work across diverse business groups

Strong leadership and people management skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to equally influence and communicate at an executive level

Undergraduate degree in Commerce / Economics / Finance / Engineering or related field

Energy / utilities sector-specific experience preferred, with a focus on infrastructure and understanding of the Australian energy sector
