Title:  Corporate Strategy Lead

Location:

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time
Description:

We bring the energy – through purpose and people

Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

We all want a future of energy we can be proud of. With us you can.

We are looking for an experienced Strategy Lead to help shape AusNet’s future direction by delivering high‑quality insights and strategic recommendations, influencing senior leaders’ decision‑making, and supporting enterprise‑wide strategic planning and communications.

As part of Finance & Strategy, this role contributes to driving strategic alignment, with a focus on long-term performanceacross the organisation.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Leading strategic deep dives and developing insights that guide Board and Executive decisionmaking.
  • Solving complex, ambiguous problems independently across business units.
  • Supporting longterm strategic agenda development for the business.
  • Simplifying complex technical topics into compelling, executiveready narratives.
  • Develop strong working relationships across business units and levels.

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Consulting experience gained in a toptier or boutique consulting environment, with 2 to 3+ years working on complex, ambiguous, businesscritical problems.
  • Experience working in the energy sector or on energy consulting projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills – confident working across all business units, extracting insights from SMEs, influencing senior leaders, and presenting to Boardlevel audiences.
  • Exceptional structured problemsolving capability — able to rapidly break down complex issues, analyse data and develop clear, actionable insights.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executiveready PowerPoint storytelling and the ability to simplify technical concepts.
  • Commercial acumen and experience applying business decision tools (such as business case development, cost benefit analysis and risk analysis) is a plus.

The AusNet experience is all about…

  • Solving some of the most complex energy challenges of our time: We love unpacking complex challenges in clever ways and looking at things differently.
  • Building an energy future to be proud of: We’re a trusted leader, with deep expertise, driven to do what’s right for our communities and customers.
  • Being apart a team that cares deeply about each other: We share in the good times. We support in the tough times. And we’re humble through and through.

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We believe different perspectives are essential to our success, and we encourage all applicants to apply. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we're happy to discuss how we can support you.
