The Opportunity
As our Corporate Finance Manager, you will own and evolve AusNet’s core financial models and play a pivotal role in shaping strategic decision‑making across the business.
Working closely with the GM Financial Planning & Strategy, you’ll partner with senior leaders, influence capital allocation decisions, and guide the organisation’s financial trajectory.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and maintain AusNet’s corporate financial models, ensuring accuracy and relevance in a rapidly changing environment.
- Partner with the FP&A Manager to support the annual planning / forecasting process.
- Provide valuation analysis and insights for Board papers, shareholder reporting, and executive decision‑making.
- Conduct scenario modelling to support capital management strategies and long‑term business planning.
- Deliver financial modelling and commercial evaluation for major investments and business development opportunities.
- Oversee cashflow modelling, liquidity reporting, and quarterly distribution recommendations.
- Partner with Treasury on funding and capital management initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to strategic projects across the company.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of finance professionals.
About you
You’re an analytical, commercially minded finance professional with a passion for problem‑solving and improving business performance. You thrive in complex environments, bring strong financial modelling capability, and enjoy partnering with the business to influence outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
- CA or CPA qualification (CA preferred); CFA highly regarded.
- Strong experience in corporate finance and advanced financial modelling (utilities experience is a bonus but not essential).
- Exceptional attention to detail and capability to prepare insights for Exec and Board audiences.
- Proven experience providing commercial or financial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capability and an ability to coach and empower high‑performing teams.
- A curious, proactive mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
