  • Lead and shape a high performing control room function in a complex 24/7 environment
  • Inspire and develop shift based leaders and controllers, building capability, engagement and accountability
  • Provide leadership through complexity and change in a critical operational environment

 

We have an opportunity for a Control Room Manager to lead the safe, reliable and effective real-time operation of our Distribution network.

 

Reporting to the Head of Distribution Control & Operations, this role is based in Melbourne’s CBD and is part of the Network Operations & Delivery team.

 

What you’ll help deliver

 

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing control room function, embedding strong leadership, accountability and a culture of safety across a 24/7 operating environment
  • Own real-time operational decision-making, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient network outcomes across electricity and gas, including during major and emergency events
  • Drive uplift across people, process and systems, leading capability development, continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies and ways of working
  • Build trusted partnerships across access planning, dispatch and operations, aligning teams to deliver seamless, end-to-end network performance and fault delivery outcomes

 

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Proven leadership experience in complex, high pressure operational environments, with the ability to engage, influence and bring teams on a journey
  • Deep expertise in electricity distribution control room or real time network operations, with strong technical judgment and decision-making capability
  • Demonstrated success in building capability and leading teams through change in shift-based environments
  • Experience operating within regulated environments, with a strong focus on safety leadership, compliance and performance outcomes
  • Tertiary engineering or technical qualifications
