Join us in a dynamic role where you'll oversee a portfolio of contracts for AusNet Services projects, focusing on construction agreements from negotiation through execution and implementation phases.

This role will see you managing a portfolio of contracts for AusNet Servies projects with a strong emphasis on construction agreements extending through negotiation, execution and implementation phase of construction activity.

In this role, you'll be the key commercial advocate, collaborating closely with project stream leads and stakeholders to drive the best commercial outcomes. You'll be empowered in managing construction claims processes, ensuring and delivering adherence to contractual requirements, and overseeing the effective transition from contract execution to the construction phase and beyond.

With a focus on governance and control, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring project success and delivering optimal results.

 

With a 3/2 Hybrid spilt Office/WFH, this role is based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Western Renewables Link project team, Development & Future Networks team. 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Manage construction claims processes to ensure adherence to project objectives
  • Ensure smooth transition from contract execution to O&M phase.
  • Oversee pricing and financial evaluation of tender submissions.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks during development and construction.
  • Lead Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs).
  • Analyse contract spend against milestones, reporting on efficiencies.
  • Negotiate key commercial terms and resolve disputes.
  • Foster professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate understanding of safety.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies, driving continuous improvement.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Proven expertise in managing large capital project contracts effectively.
  • Strong ability to oversee contractor performance with excellent document control practices.
  • Demonstrated skills in influencing and negotiation within complex resource environments.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation and adeptness in advising on commercial commitments.
  • Collaborative mindset, thriving in high-performing team environments.
  • Leadership maturity to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in analytical reasoning and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of the procure-to-pay process and its intersections with stakeholders.
