This role will see you working closely with the Project and Program Delivery (Distribution) team providing commercial and contract management support in terms of contract preparation and execution, risk management, commercial analysis, and contract performance reporting to drive commercial contract management of outsourced delivery partners.

 

Additionally, the role supports the formulation of fit-for-purpose commercial strategies and management tools, risk matrices, process as well as contract governance frameworks. To achieve this, the incumbent in this role will use his/her continuous improvement mindset to support the Manager Contracts and Controls, Contracts Lead, Projects & Program Leadership Team, and Project Managers to ensure successful delivery of planned project milestones within Works Management.

 

With a Hybrid split of WFH and office based (Malvern and Southbank), this role is part of the Contracts team.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Ensure compliance through actively engaging with stakeholders and maintain awareness of relevant legislation, laws, regulations, standards, codes and Ausnet policies and procedures.
  • Influence continuous improvement and positive outcomes so the contributions are viewed as adding value. 
  • Enable accelerated culture change, fostering care, curiosity and connection through a tangible and measurable “Listen, Learn and Act” approach to employee feedback that aligns with the values of Ausnet. 
  • Build the foundations required to move at pace by looking beyond what we do today and testing new ways of doing things
  • Be adaptive to changes and innovations in AusNet’s processes and the digital landscape that can help us grow our network and support AusNet’s purpose
  • Liaising with procurement and legal teams for sign off of project contracts
  • Analysis of risk of any major contracts and implement measures to mitigate these such that it will enhance the project delivery performance
  • Support the delivery of the projects monthly performance report, including the measurements, insights and commentary of the contract Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Provide strong consultation and stakeholder management skills

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Strong consultation and stakeholder management skills
  • Minimum of 3 years in contract management and administration, commercial and analytical work experience in a large corporate including contract/agreement negotiation is preferable
  • Knowledge in the application of commercial and construction contract law and experience in contract drafting is preferable
  • Advanced excel skills - pivot tables, charts and data manipulation
  • Previous reporting creation experience
  • Working experience with SAP, ARIBA and other BI tools for analysis (nice to have)
