Title: Construction Manager - Terminal Stations
Victoria, Australia
We bring the energy – through purpose and people
Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.
Are you excited to solve some of the most complex energy challenges of our time?
Go beyond keeping the lights on. Solve energy challenges that matter most.
As a Construction Manager – Terminal Stations, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role ensuring the safe, high-quality delivery of AusNet’s substation infrastructure projects. Drawing on your field experience and technical expertise, you’ll work closely with delivery partners, assess quality and safety on site, and influence outcomes that matter.
This role bridges field knowledge with strategic oversight—supporting innovation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our construction standards meet the highest expectations. You’ll be on the road, in the field, and at the heart of shaping how we build the future of energy.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is a permanent full-time position and can be located in one of our depots in Victoria and is part of the Transmission team. This role will require travel, and you'll be on the road as part of your responsibilities.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Reviewing business cases
- Conducting technical tender reviews for delivery partners
- Providing design input for constructability and timelines
- Performing preconstruction site reviews and inspections, including documenting the work area for scope input
- Ensuring quality aligns with the design and Substations Design Manual (SDM)
- Verifying that the delivery partner complies with site access and security requirements
- Advising the delivery partner on site setup and installation, following WorkSafe guidelines and the SDM
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of
- Relevant electrical trade or engineering background (e.g. Cert III in Electrotechnology or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of substation equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection systems)
- Ability to meet deadlines and escalate issues when required
- Skilled in prioritising and planning tasks
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Dedicated to the safety of both the community and employees involved in providing services
Emergency Response: Customers and community are at the heart of everything we do. From time to time you may be called upon to support an emergency response (e.g. storms, bushfires, floods) to ensure we continue to safely deliver our customers’ energy needs.
A real place to belong.
We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through our social club, family day, wide range of events or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.
We believe in more than just competitive pay. Here’s what sets us apart:
