We have an opportunity for a Connections Coordinator to join our Transmission team. In this role, you'll work alongside customers, and internal stakeholders to support the commercial and governance delivery of transmission connection projects from enquiry through to completion.You'll build strong relationships, coordinate across multiple teams and play a key role in delivering a safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable network for Victoria. The role offers exposure to customer engagement, commercial negotiations, governance processes and project delivery across Victoria's evolving energy sector.

 

You'll also have the opportunity to work on some of Victoria's most significant transmission, renewable energy, battery storage and major customer connection projects, helping deliver the infrastructure needed to support the State's energy transition and future network needs.

 

 

What you’ll be doing in this role:

 

  • Customer interface for commercial solutions to external customers in relation to connection enquiries/applications within Victoria to meet customer expectations
  • Providing an interface between internal and external customers for the delivery of solutions in a timely and efficient manner to meet customers’ expectations
  • Commercial negotiation and contract administration that are value accretive for AusNet Services and provide value for Customers
  • Managing & responding to connection enquiries and applications from DBs, generators and load customers and ensure that regulatory obligations are met.
  • Preparation of high-quality business cases and obtaining approvals in accordance with company policies.
  • Creation of projects in SAP and understanding of the of the project lifecycle by following the governance framework for projects.
  • Managing the customer’s expectations with regards to the end-to-end service of customer projects from initiation to close-out.
  • Engaging internal stakeholders and customers in development and finalisation of connection requests in accordance with company policies and processes.
  • Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of business processes, policies and procedures in relation to network connections and augmentations.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationship with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
  • Ensuring effective knowledge transfer with team members to develop best practice outcomes.
  • Ensuring project information is accurate and up to date in internal systems to support high-quality reporting

 

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Degree in Business/Engineering/Project Management or related degrees/diplomas beneficial
  • 5 – 8 years of working experience. Experience in Utilities or Energy Sector would be preferred.
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Knowledge of the electricity transmission & sub transmission networks would be an added advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of NERs as it relates to Network connections
  • Ability to undertake independent problem solving and managing issues to resolution for assigned project work
  • Undertake independent planning and completion of work without detailed supervision
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to obtain co-operation or assistance around well-defined issues, to exchange information and discuss technical, commercial or administrative issues and communicate with counterparts in other divisions, subordinates, peers and management, and external customers and suppliers
  • Demonstrate accountability & responsibility for outcomes
  • End to end project management experience
  • Working within complex organisations and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to prepare written submissions on technical or commercial issues
  • Recognise and act upon present opportunities or address current problems, generating solutions or recommendations
  • Broad understanding of engineering design & delivery
