Are you ready to make your impact?
Help shape AusNet’s Centre of Excellence for Commissioning, as our Commissioning Officer, supporting the successful delivery of major transmission infrastructure projects from planning through to energisation and handover. Working closely with Project Managers, Design Partners, Delivery Partners and Operations teams, you'll provide expert commissioning, and integration oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with AusNet's technical and operational standards. This is a hands-on role where you'll influence project outcomes, manage complex interfaces, and play a key part in bringing critical network assets into service.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Lead and support commissioning, testing and energisation activities for major transmission infrastructure projects.
- Provide constructability, operability and maintainability input throughout project planning, design and delivery.
- Develop commissioning procedures, transition plans, testing strategies and network cutover plans to ensure safe integration of new assets.
- Monitor construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, technical and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate delivery partners, contractors, operational teams and key stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and reviews, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and quality assurance activities.
- Support project managers with contractor engagement, technical reviews, scope changes, practical completion and final asset handover.
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
- Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power Systems, or an Electrical Engineering degree with hands-on testing and commissioning experience.
- Extensive experience within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI), ideally in transmission or distribution environments.
- Proven experience in secondary commissioning, protection testing and electrical asset commissioning.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, electrical drawings, technical documentation and testing procedures.
- Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes and work collaboratively across project and operational teams.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and proactively escalate issues when required.
- Diploma or Degree in Project Management is highly regarded
