Clean Mobility plays an important role for Mondo (part of AusNet Services) in generating its next phases of growth in infrastructure development and ownership/operations. Clean Mobility has established itself as a leader in transport electrification infrastructure focusing on commercial fleets, large format charging facilities and vehicles, and turnkey project delivery.
Play a critical role as a Commercial Manager, Clean Mobility where you will drive the financial and commercial success of the market leading Clean Mobility team. Our continued success in electrification infrastructure requires the ability to operate with a fast-paced, startup-like growth mindset while also meeting the rigorous standards of a mature infrastructure investor.
In this role you will manage and drive all commercial activities, ensuring sound commercial positions and profitability through contract formulation and negotiations to execution, managing risks, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders for enduring partnerships.
This role will primarily be based in Southbank and is part of the Distributed Energy Team.
This role will deliver real outcomes. Key accountabilities require, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Strong financial modelling skills required.
- Support BD and internal shared-resource teams in managing the origination, structuring, and execution of commercial transactions, including due diligence, risk assessments, and commercial negotiations for customers, partners, and vendors.
- Preparation of Business Cases in collaboration with the team manager and technical/operational teams, including integration of financial, strategic, operational, risk, and commercial inputs.
- Identify and assess commercial risks associated with development projects, whilst developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and support implementation of sales and market strategies in conjunction with BDM(s), including channel and partner development and assisting with regulatory and policy advocacy.
- Adopt a multidisciplinary approach to the development of new and existing products and services across engineering, technical, commercial, and market strategies.
- Lead commercial negotiations as well as market planning and tactics to drive bottom-line business growth according to the BU Planning.
- Leadership in establishing key supplier, customer and stakeholder partnerships supporting the strategic goals of the business unit. Support BU growth through collaboration and major inputs into technology and product/service roadmap and execution strategies
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and trends.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, finance, economics, commerce, law, or a similar field.
- Significant experience in infrastructure and energy services markets in a commercial, technical sales management, product or project development, strategy development, technical or strategy consulting, or similar role.
- Deep knowledge of energy services, utility networks, retail energy, or similar fields required.
- Demonstrated track record of strong commercial skills in commercial negotiations, risk management, project development and origination, commercial structuring, partnerships, and/or sales. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing commercial administrative back-end systems (purchase orders, contract management etc)
- Independent self-starter with strong prioritization and excellent communication. collaboration and coordination skills. Ability to present to and engage with senior executives.
