Title: Business Operations Lead LV
Victoria, Australia

We bring the energy – through purpose and people.
Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.
As Business Operations Lead LV (DERMS), you will provide operational support for AusNet's Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS), ensuring customers are effectively supported and operational processes meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
You will also contribute to the development of future network orchestration capabilities, supporting network safety, reliability, and AusNet's transition to a Distributed System Operator (DSO) model.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Southbank, Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement, and sits within the Customer & Community team in our Distribution business.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Deliver high-quality DERMS operational support, including case management, troubleshooting, customer issue resolution, and the resolution or escalation of issues related to device registration, commissioning, connectivity, DER orchestration and DERMS operations
- Develop and maintain expertise in DERMS, distributed energy resources, interoperability standards, CSIP-Aus, NEPKI and emerging DSO capabilities
- Monitor system performance, compliance outcomes and operational trends, identifying risks and opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and network outcomes
- Build strong relationships with aggregators, OEMs, vendors and industry stakeholders to support interoperability, issue resolution and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the development and ongoing operation of AusNet's DSO and future network orchestration capabilities, ensuring customer, operational and network requirements are represented through frontline operational insights
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Strong operational skills, with experience managing competing case workloads, conducting desktop-based investigations, identifying root causes, and driving the resolution of both individual and systemic issues through to completion
- Experience in customer-facing operational roles, ideally within the energy sector, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to understand customer and industry needs and resolve issues effectively
- Knowledge of energy market trends, industry participants, and developments in solar and battery technologies
- Exposure to SCADA, control room or network operations environments is advantageous
- A genuine interest in renewable energy and the transition to a more sustainable energy future
- Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline is desirable
