Title: Business Operations Lead DERMS
Victoria, Australia

We bring the energy – through purpose and people.
Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.
As a Business Operations Lead LV (DERMS), you'll support the Renewables Integration team in the day-to-day operation of AusNet's Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). This includes device registration, commissioning support, issue triage and troubleshooting, helping ensure customers are supported and DER operations meet regulatory and customer requirements.
This is a part-time opportunity (0.6 capacity and up to 6 months duration and we’re flexible with how this combination looks) based in Southbank, Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement, and sits within the Customer & Community team in our Distribution business.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Use AusNet's DERMS and related systems to support the connection and operation of solar, battery and other customer energy systems
- Investigate and resolve customer, installer and industry enquiries relating to registration, commissioning, testing and ongoing operation, escalating complex issues where required
- Build expertise in emerging technologies, systems, processes and regulatory requirements through training and hands-on experience
- Collaborate with customers, installers, technology vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver timely solutions and successful connection outcomes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying issues, testing enhancements and contributing to process and system improvements
- Achieve service and customer outcomes while contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with an interest in conducting desktop-based investigations, identifying root causes, and driving the resolution of customer, technical and systemic issues through to completion
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to initiatives and projects from concept through to implementation
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in renewable energy, new technologies and the energy transition
- Understanding of renewable energy technologies, solar and battery systems, electricity distribution networks and broader energy market trends
- Experience in a customer-facing operational role, ideally within the energy sector, with the ability to build relationships, understand stakeholder needs and resolve issues effectively
- Exposure to SCADA, control room or network operations environments is advantageous
- Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline are desirable.
