Our Asset Management Team optimise the cost, risk and performance of our assets to deliver resilient, reliable and safe energy supply to our customers.

With a 3/2 Hybrid split (3 days in the office, 2 days’ work from home), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Asset Management team. For candidates interested in moving for this role from states outside of Victoria in Australia, we would be delighted to offer relocation assistance for this role.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

 

  • Support complex work activities, including price resets such as Electricity Distribution Price Resets (EDPR), Transmission Revenue Resets (TRR) and Gas Access Arrangement Review (GAAR), annual replacement and maintenance programs, and risk-based maintenance strategies
  • Define criteria for asset risk models (e. g. likelihood and consequence of failure, monetisation of risks…) leveraging expertise and understanding within AusNet
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of asset risk management and decision optimisation solutions across all AusNet networks
  • Lead economic justification of the replacement programs across AusNet’s asset base.
  • Ensure overall Asset Management Compliance through monitoring of Rules and Regulations changes, evaluating impact on the business and initiating actions to ensure full compliance.
  • Own process, specification and standards improvement initiatives, and develop new methods of practice.
  • Translate complex business requirements, evaluating options with recommendations that offer comprehensive solutions to achieve strategic business plans/options.
  • Drive consistency and provide guidance to the business on risk management and reliability engineering concepts including, Weibull analysis, FMECA, RCM, Health Indices, degradation modelling, economic justification, risk mitigation
  • Attend audits and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

 

  • Degree qualified in electrical engineering.
  • Considerable, in-depth electrical engineering/asset management experience.
  • Regulatory submissions experience.
  • Utility, energy, and/or asset management experience – highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience developing Condition Based Risk Management Models (CBRM)
  • Detailed understanding of the technical and economic regulations governing electrical networks.
  • Project Management and Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Previous experience with Decision Analytics solutions (implementing and using)
  • Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results.
