We have an exciting opportunity within our Development and Future Network Team, which leads strategic growth in the energy sector. This role focuses on building support among customers, communities, and stakeholders for delivering transmission, generation, load connections, and storage infrastructure.
As the Owners' Engineer specialising in asset management, you will oversee the lifecycle of our assets, ensuring their optimal performance and long-term value. You will act as the link between technical expertise and commercial and operational insights, aiming to maximise asset performance in line with commercial expectations and contractual obligations. Your goal will be to minimise risks and enhance the financial performance of our organization.
In this role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert strategic direction in asset management while meeting company objectives. You will play a key role in managing the handover and integration process of megaprojects, ensuring smooth transitions from construction to operations and asset management.
The Megaprojects are some of the largest transmission build of its kind in more than three decades. These are a critical piece of transmission infrastructure required to deliver energy from wind and solar farms in Victoria to homes across the state and to the National Electricity Market (https://www.westernrenewableslink.com.au/).
The role will report directly to the Asset Integration Lead and will participate in shaping the significant growth opportunities in:
- Victorian transmission infrastructure connections
- Mega scale battery energy storage systems
- Interstate transmission infrastructure expansions
With a hybrid working environment, this role is based out of Southbank and is apart of the Asset Management, Infrastructure Operations & delivery Team
Key accountabilities will include:
Ensure future contestable assets are delivered and managed within AusNet’s risk appetite.
- Lead and manage the handover process for megaprojects, ensuring a smooth transition from project construction to operations and asset management.
- Role model AusNet Values, conduct and culture across the organisation to support employee engagement and desired behaviours.
- Contribute to a learning culture, through sharing of insights and lessons learned
- Contribute to the development of Asset Integration strategies, systems and processes
- Promote a collaborative environment through leadership and Influencing business outcomes by suggesting most cost-effective and efficient strategies for Asset Management.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
- People Management/commercial experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated years’ experience in:
- Electricity industry
- Asset Management
- Operational management role in asset owning organisations across network asset management, operations and incident management (preferred).
